Tigers great Virgil Trucks dies at 95

Known for having thrown two no hitters and a World Series win during his 17 year career, Trucks passed away from pneumonia last Saturday. He remained a part of the of Tigers organization in different roles until his death. Featured in the special edition The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg, Virgil Trucks recounted insightful stories from his playing career:

“I didn’t even know they kept saves in those days, and after I got out, I looked up the record today and it’s in the book that I had thirty saves. I had no idea I had that many saves.”

Virgil Trucks will be missed by all Detroit Tigers fans and baseball fans alike.
